India has announced its interest to venture into the country’s platinum sector.
The Asian nation’s interest in the metal comes on the back of a booming motoring industry.
“Zimbabwe has one of the largest platinum reserves in the world and our country is interested in platinum mining this will be fairly easy as there a number of Indian mining
companies partnering with some Zimbabwean companies,” Commerce and Industry minister Jyotiraditya Scindia said
He said country’s investors were also interested in other lucrative mining sectors in the country.
Zimbabwe has the world second largest known reserves of the precious metal and the sectors is currently dominated by Implats owned Zimplats,Mimosa Mines in
Zvishabane and the newly completed Unki Platinum Mines in Shurugwi.
