The Zimbabwean government has suspended the licences of 28 diamond cutting and polishing firms in the country.
The mines ministry said the move had been necessitated by increased reports of the firms reselling diamonds availed to them at concessionary prices by the government to international buyers.
The ministry said it had instituted an investigation into the reports.
