motsepeSOUTH African businessman Patrice Motsepe arrived in Zimbabwe along with a business delegation.

The delegation held a meeting with finance minister Tendai Biti in the morning and is expected to meet President Mugabe. Motsepe announced last year that he was eyeing investment opportunities in Zim, mainly in the mining industry.

"The purpose of the Busa visit is to receive a briefing from the government of national unity in Zimbabwe, on plans for economic recovery and the potential role for South African business," said Busa in a statement on Sunday.

"It provides an important opportunity to establish contact with the new government and to express the support of the South African private sector for efforts to rebuild the economy in Zimbabwe."

Busa said business leaders from Aspen Pharmacare, Massmart, Netcare, PPC Cement, Old Mutual, Price Waterhouse Coopers and the Industrial Development Corporation, would also be participating as part of the delegation.

This Busa delegation has been invited to Harare by the Minister of Finance Tendai Biti, who would host the one day visit which will also include meetings with the Prime Minister, other Ministers and officials from the Zimbabwean Government.--fin24/bo
