Zimbabwe Platinum Mines (Zimplats) workers on Fridays striked over the refusal by the company to pay utilities bills for employees housing units.
The company built more 1000 housing at Turf Village at its Ngezi Mine to house its work force.
The employees are demanding the company to meet all costs related to their water and power.
The company and employees failed to strike a deal at an emergency meeting held at the mine on Thursday resulting is calls for workers not to report for work until their demands are met.

Zimplats is the country’s biggest mining operations, having produced 182,100 ounces of platinum in the year to June 30 and is in the midst of a $460 million expansion of its Ngezi mine, southwest of the capital Harare to boost output to 270,000 ounces in 2014.
Zimplats signed an agreement with the government in 2006 to release of a portion of its mining claims in exchange for a combination of black empowerment credits and cash.
